I met Spanish guy
POSTED AT 05:18 PM
It started when he said my crackers looked good and I offered him some. The next thing I knew, we were talking about his ex-wife. A Filipina
who ran away 3 years ago along with their son. Moments after, he was in
tears. He was talking how devastated he was about his wife and how his
son will grow up without a father. Towards the end of the train ride, he was telling me that I should make
good decisions in my life and he sees that I will become a beautiful
woman quoting "Your boyfriend will be an idiot to even let go of you.
You are a beautiful girl and I see a beautiful person in you." Well, of course I liked the bola parts. But seriously, I feel bad for the man. He was just too nice for the Filipina girl to just break his heart. And now he knows what "putang ina mo" means. Apparently he has been hearing it for years without any idea what it meant. On a totally opposite mood, I am watching in the Gold Class Cinemas... FOR FREE!

It's nice when you get paid to answer phone calls
POSTED AT 09:23 AM
I felt really melancholic today. I don't know why.
On the happier note, I had 2 memorable conversations today:
I was at the work doing my job when I got a phone call... me: Good afternoon. Harvey Norman Beddings, this is Danielle speaking caller: Hi is Jason there? Please? me: Yup, but he is currently with a customer right now. Would you like him to ring you back or just leave a message? caller: Oh, just tell him I called. My name is God. me: alright, Buhbye. Have a nice day! *I walk to Jason* me: Jason, somebody named God called and if you could return his call ASAP, it'd be great. Jason: God? I don't know anyone in such name. me: Oh, I don't know. He sounded like he really knew you. Jason: Oh ok, I'll try to remember who he is and give him a ring back me: Maybe you're not supposed to be at Harvey Norman. Maybe you ought to be a priest, it's God calling you! HAHA Jason: I really love filo irony!
turns out there's a driver in Harvey Norman named God.
conversation number 2: carl and I were walking our way home... me: eeewww, may ipis! (dun sa sidewalk) carl: eewww, bakit kaya gumawa pa si God ng ipis? me: para naman daw may kamuka ka!
Our house is like an orphanage right now. Both my parents are in Manila for some wrong sad reasons. There's nowhere I'd rather be right now than in Manila. Seriously, I want to be there NOW.

I hate it that I am here
POSTED AT 08:37 PM
It hurts. Because someone I love very very much won't even wake up. And I can't even see him. I am not even sure if I will ever see him again.

The Pain of Flossing Your Teeth
POSTED AT 07:40 PM
Ironic how you use a dental floss to take out something stuck
between your teeth, then the floss you used just got stuck into your
teeth.
and yeah. IT WON'T COME OFF!
I have tried all
means that I, my dad, and some international doctors can think of! (yes
i have sought international help) but the floss is just too stubborn to
move out.
My dad tried to fix it.
My dentist in the Philippines tried to fix it.
Miggy tried to fix it. (of course he isn't a doctor, but he is smart enough to help)
Tita Mary Rose tried to fix it. (she isn't a dentist but is a creative enough doctor to figure out some ways)
Miggy's dentist and the friend of his mom's who is also a dentist tried to
... and to no avail did the dental floss come off. and it seriously hurts now
I am desperate.

I am officially employed!
POSTED AT 06:42 PM
(dated 04 August 2008)
I am now officially employed. And it's not like just a so-so job. It's a real job!
Before
I already tried working in UP as registration assitant and it paid me 8
pesos per hour. So really, it was no real job. It's like volunteer
work. Just yesterday, my new employer called me and said they were
hiring me!
What job? I will be working as a cashier at Harvey Norman.
I am assigned at the beddings section (quilts, pillow cases, etc.). My
empoyer said I would also make some phone calls for the company and
that kind of stuff. I only work every Saturday from 9am to 5pm.
THE
BEST PART IS: I earn a minimum of 15 dollars per hour (we still have to
negotiate about my pay). Which means, I earn a minimum of 120 dollars
per week.
I am excited. This is my first real job ever!

Farewell to the Martinezes
POSTED AT 06:40 PM
(dated 02 August 2008)
I will miss how when I get home people would calle me Niel, Nielly, Aniel, or Anielly.
I will miss how Lolo just calls me "yung anak ni Dan" and can't remember my name for more than 24 hours.
I will miss having to fight to wash the dishes here at home.
I will miss how everyone teases me about marrying someone and the 'sumpaan sa Kiama'.
I will miss how my Titas complement all of us about how we look or what we wear to school.
I will definitely miss those 5 people who stayed in our house for a month.
Sadly, they have to leave. But well, we will see each other soon. I love them and I know they know it.
I just hate it that everything's back to normal. pfffttt.

4 dayt 'til World Youth Day
POSTED AT 06:04 PM
Who the hell gets just a PASS in Managing Stress in Anxiety? da-ni-el-le! I seriously am getting a reconsideration for that! I mean, I know I don't manage stress and anxiety really well, but Putai Jin can't just damage my average like that! On the lighter note, i got High Distinctions for Histology and all else of my subjects were higher than expected. *tap on my shoulder, gun on Putai Jin's face*
(sorry, that's the farthest my paint skills can go. haha!)
Enough of Putai Jin wrath, I went ALL OVER the city today with my bro--thank goodness for TravelTens and Sydney Buses. I already got myself a WYD 08 jacket (yes, I am that hyped about World Youth Day). And, I also bought some lovely stuff Well, to end my seem-to-be-never-ending day, I got home seeing my Lola, my two Titas, along with my parents, doing some hardcore aerobics! I tell you, it was better than stand up comedians! HAHA!

Smoking Children
POSTED AT 01:52 PM
Just today I realised that I have been lying to all the people who have asked me if I ever tried smoking. I always answered with a stern NO when asked this question simply because I am in total disagreement to such vice (for myself, because I have asthma). But today, my sister recalled something that happened way back my kindergarten years. My first ever (and only) try to smoke was during my Montessori days when I was in kindergarten and my sister was in nursery. Our service/school bus driver told us to try it. Being the naive little girls that we were, we did! Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I can't even remember how it felt or tasted. So officially, I was 5 years of age during my first puff. HAHA! Thanks to our driver! btw, I had a haircut today. but it's not really picture-worthy because it's just my normal short-style-haircut. I'm not one for an experimental mane. haha!

Grade Conscious
POSTED AT 10:50 AM
I'm 3/10 happy today. 30% happy 60% cramming 10% excited
Components of happiness:
10% - Biochemistry 3rd mid session exam 10% - Microbiology final report 10% - Histology practical exam 10% - Microbial processes diary 10% - Biochemistry practical exam 10% - Biochemistry final exam 10% - Concepts of Physical Fitness and Health exam 10% - Histology final exam 10% - Microbiology final exam 10% - World Youth Day (he is coming... the POPE okay? haha)
I just got out of my Histology prac exam and being the grade conscious person that I am, I immediately checked my Big Book Of Histo Slides (yeah, thats how i call that book i made). I rememberred 39 out of the 40 questions, 36 of which i answered correctly. OK SO PROUD. (haha, this is the only subject i can actually brag about)
And about histo, ELECTRON MICROGRAPGHS MUST ROT IN HELL. :|
After all components of immediate happiness have been done, I am (ideally, fingers crossed, while praying and desperately hoping) half way done my undergraduate course.
So now I have to do my Microbial Processes Diary, which is the reason I had to stay in uni when the weather is so conducive for sleeping.
Speaking of microbial processes, here's my Micro lab group whom i had so much fun with. yeah, nerdy fun!

hooray for the last day of this semester!
